Huawei and our educational institution launched a project " smart agriculture
Huawei branch in Uzbekistan and the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers have signed a memorandum of understanding on introducing innovative technologies in agriculture and irrigation systems. A meeting was held on the same subject. The event was opened by the Rector of the Institute Professor O. Umurzakov with a foreword. Then the floor was given to Liu Jiaxing, Director of Huawei. He noted that he was sincerely pleased to cooperate with the TIIMSHA, which has a high rating among the universities of the world. Then Azim Nazarov, Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, made his remarks.
Obviously, the memorandum signed to implement corporate social responsibility and introduce innovative digital technologies in agriculture and irrigation systems management, as well as improve the efficiency of rational use of natural resources in Uzbekistan will open the way to promising plans. Under the memorandum, Huawei and TICXMMI have agreed to launch a smart agriculture project using 5G technologies, smart sensors and control, monitoring and data processing systems based on an intelligent data processing platform.
The implementation of the project "smart agriculture" will increase the efficiency of the use of natural resources, simplify the monitoring and management of crop control processes, alerting about possible effects on the harvest of the external environment through the analysis of the state. There is a possibility of getting video information about weather conditions, soil, irrigation systems, as well as in real time from the smart land plot. The project will be developed and implemented by specialists and professors of TIIMSHM in the networks of JSC "Uztelecom" national telecommunications operator with the expert and technical support of Huawei and support of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Rector O. Umurzakov thanked the representatives of Huawei, the Ministry of Water and Agriculture, Uztelecom, Uzmobile for the visit to AO. It was noted that the digitalization of agriculture in Uzbekistan is one of the most important areas of reforms carried out in this area. In particular, it should be noted that the introduction of intelligent agriculture in the research sector of the institute is one of the first steps in this direction. It was stated that this model can serve as a viable example for implementation in other agricultural enterprises. Of course, the need to reach higher heights was emphasized.
