Visit to Jizzakh region for reconstruction of irrigation networks

The reconstruction of irrigation networks in order to reliably meet the need for water for irrigated crops, renewal of outdated trays, increase the reliability of irrigation networks on the problems arising in the construction of scientifically sound, economical Development of tips and recommendations for effective solutions is an urgent issue. For this purpose, a group of professors and doctoral students o f” Department of Irrigation and Land Reclamation” discussed about urgent measures to improve the efficiency of water resources use and land reclamation in Jizzakh and Syrdarya regions. On September 10-11, 2021 the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PD-4801, visited Jizzakh region facilities, which were under construction and reconstruction, as well as the repair and restoration of irrigation and reclamation facilities.

During the visit, inspections and interviews were carried out with construction contractors in Zarbdor district of Jizzakh region in the areas of reconstruction of tray networks in Bakht, Yangikent and Nurafshan districts. During the meeting, Associate Professor of  “Department of Irrigation and Land Reclamation” D.А. Abduraimova gave recommendations to E. Shodikulov, engineer of the contracting organization LLC "Ishtihontransservice" and engineers, on solving some problems that arose during the construction. The reconstruction of irrigation networks in Jizzakh region, reconstruction of networks in Yangikent and Nurafshan districts of Zarbdor region is practically completed, and currently the inspection and adjustment of installed  networks is underway. Consultations and recommendations of construction contractors on how to prevent the risk of mudflows in underground passages, how to clean them, explain to water users the correct use of grids, the use of siphons and other equipment for water intake were also analyzed and the certain instructions were given.
