Summary of Water Literacy
When it comes to global issues, the issue of involuntary water is mentioned. It is difficult to imagine the human, animal, and plant world without it. Because water is clearly the source of life and livelihood. Therefore, it is only natural that the solution to this problem should be in the spotlight of the whole world. Water is present above and below the ground, in the clouds in the sky, and in our bodies and bodies. He is the one who surrounds our whole being. This is how we use water resources. The work being done on the UzWaterAware project, implemented by the Central Asian Regional Environmental Center with the support of the European Union, is commendable. The UzWaterAware project is fully titled "Raising Awareness and Cooperation for Sustainable Water and Environmental Development in Uzbekistan." It is gratifying that the final and reporting programs of the project are taking place in our capital on October 28 and 30, 2020. The main goal of the UzWaterAware project is to summarize the results of the work done to improve water literacy. The largest project of the European Union is component 3, ie part of the program "Sustainable Water Management in Rural Areas of Uzbekistan", the national partner of which is the Ministry of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Until November 2020, it was implemented in 9 regions of the country and the city of Tashkent.
Raising awareness and awareness of the general public about the importance of rational use of water resources and environmental protection in the context of climate change, as well as strengthening cooperation and interaction with ministries and their press services, NGOs, youth organizations, and the media. is one of the main objectives. Representatives of international and government organizations, as well as direct active partners and project participants - representatives of non-governmental organizations, experts, journalists, took part in summarizing the results of the project and discussing the achievements. The main final event was attended by Deputy Minister of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan (National Partner of the project) Akmal Mirzaev, Head of the EU Delegation to Uzbekistan François Bejo, MOMEM Executive Director Zafar Mahmudov, Director of NGO "Suvchi" (project co-founder) Tokhir Majidov, as well as the managers of the other components of the above-mentioned EU Program, Dr. Karolina Milov (Component 1, GIZ) and Ulugbek Islamov (Component 2, UN TR).
