“Christians and Muslims in medieval Spain (8-15 centuries)”
On March 2, 2020, Flosel Sabate Curull, professor at the University of Lleida, University of Spain, made a presentation at a scientific seminar on "Christians and Muslims in medieval Spain (8-15 centuries)." Andalusia is an autonomous region in southern Spain with an administrative center - the city of Seville. It consists of 8 provinces: Almeria, Cadiz, Cordoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaen, Malaga and Seville. In Andalusia there are such great ports as Seville, Cordoba (Kurtuba), Malaga, Cadiz.
When the Arabs conquered most of the Pyrenees at the beginning of the eighth century, they named this place Andalusia (al-Andalus). Under Arab rule, Andalusia was divided into four kingdoms (emirates) - Hen, Kurtuba, Seville and Pomegranate. In the 13th century, in the process of reconciliation, with the conquest of Pomegranate in 1492, Andalusia was fully incorporated into the kingdom of Castile and Aragon. The later history of Andalusia coincided with the history of Spain. Flosel Sabate Kurull spoke about the history of Andalusia, in particular, about the relationship between Muslims and Christians.
