The memory of ancestors is eternal

On December 5, 2020, students of the group 107 of the Hydromelioration Faculty, together with the group curator D. Gulomov, visited the Independence Square, as the implementation of the 5 important initiatives. Students learned about the history of the construction of this main square. Today, Independence Square is a venue for celebrations on holidays such as the Independence Day of Uzbekistan and the New Year. The central figure of the square is sixteen marble columns, united by a ceiling, on which the figures of storks are installed, which from ancient times symbolized peace and tranquility. From the colonnade to the Monument of Independence, there are alleys, on both sides of which you can find green areas with beautiful fountains. Under the monument there is a figure of a woman with a baby in her arms, which symbolizes the Motherland. From the central colonnade, there is a park area. It houses the Walk of Fame and Memory in honor of the soldiers who died in World War II. There are galleries on both sides of the alley. These galleries contain Books of Memory, where the names of Uzbeks who died for their Motherland in World War II are recorded. The alley ends with the figure of the Grieving Mother, in front of which is a circle with the Eternal Flame.
