Rectors of Higher education institutions visited TIIAME
There is a lot of wisdom in sharing experiences, learning from positive achievements and results, and putting them into practice. It is important to share and study the experience of higher education institutions that have established a high-tech education system in accordance with modern requirements and have a high rating among the world's universities. Similarly, the visits of rectors and directors of branches of about a hundred higher education institutions of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic to educational institutions will lead to positive results and success.
Today, the rectors and directors of branches of higher education institutions visited TIIAME for the same purpose. They were delighted to see the high-tech classrooms, information resource center and laboratories at the institute. They intend to implement these effective results in their own educational institutions as well. In addition, the opening of cluster centers that fully meet modern requirements is a guarantee of our success.
The next cluster center has recently been established at our institute under the auspices of AKFA Group, a cluster of digital technologies for sustainable management of natural resources. Its scientific and technical equipment and cooperation with foreign countries has certainly attracted the attention of rectors. The purpose of the cluster are the studies on monitoring of situational processes in agriculture, water and forestry, land use, geodesy and cartography, ecology and environmental protection, assessment of climate change using modern remote sensing methods and geographic information systems.
Over the past 15 years, many of our professors, doctoral students and masters have gained new knowledge and skills in remote sensing, use of geographic information systems in the field of agriculture and water management, in cooperation with prestigious European universities.
In particular, since 2003, Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers in cooperation with Vaginengin University in Netherlands has a bilateral master's degree diploma in Environmental Protection (Geo-Information Systems) and Environmental Protection (International Land and Water Management). 50 graduate students have studied in the joint master's program to this date. Fifteen graduates has earned a degree of "magister" from Vaginengin and Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers. It is noteworthy that In total, 194 graduate students were trained with foreign universities: Vaginengin University (Netherlands), University of Bonn (Germany), Weinstein University (Germany), including 92 masters in "Environmental Protection" (Agriculture and Water Management).
Currently, graduate students conduct their research at leading universities in Uzbekistan, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Slovakia, Japan, Italy and Austria. In Uzbekistan, 5 of them received PhDs and 20 received PhDs. Scientists at Vaginengin University and TIIAME have jointly developed a new methodology for estimating salinity and soil degradation based on plant indices.
For the first time in the world, in the case of Syrdarya region, soil salinity was used to estimate the method of space thermography of plants. Nowadays, in Australia research is being carried out using this method in the cultivation of cotton and legumes based on the interests of Australian scientists.
