International Summer School has started online
It is clear that mutually beneficial cooperation will contribute to the development of the industry. The same with the science. It is no secret that the source of development of any industry, the scientific basis of which depends on the integration of theory, practice and research. The goal can not be fully achieved without this. For the same purpose, today at the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers for students of the Kazakh-German University (KGU) in Almaty and TIIAME master's degree "Fundamentals of water resources management: integration of theory, practice and research" "The International Summer School has started its work online. The International Summer School also includes students from all over Central Asia, including Afghanistan. The purpose of this unique international summer school includes:
- to strengthen the knowledge and skills of students, which they will further apply in the Central Asian region;
- Creating a platform for dialogue between students of KGU and TIIAME, as well as;
- Using the scientific and technical potential of the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers in the development of regional potential.
Today's event coincided with another happiness, that is the opening of the International Summer School Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) Laboratory at TIIAME. This year, for the third time (unfortunately, for the first time online due to the coronavirus pandemic), both the international summer school and the new IWRM laboratory, which is unique not only for Uzbekistan but also for the region, are part of TIIAME's Water Education and Cooperation (SMART WATER) ”project. The SMART WATER project, implemented by the Central Asian Regional Environmental Center and the Ministry of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan, is financially supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
At the opening ceremony of the International Summer School, the rector of TIIAME prof. U. Umurzakov, US Ambassador to Uzbekistan Daniel Rosenbloom, Deputy Minister of Water Resources V. Ahmadjanov, Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan U. Begimkulov, Executive Director of the Central Asian Regional Environmental Center Z. Mahmudov, scientists and students of KGU and TIIAME took part in this event. In his speech the rector of TIIAME prof. U.Umurzakov noted that the event was organized by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No PF-4947 dated February 7, 2017 "On the Strategy for further development of the Republic of Uzbekistan" to strengthen international cooperation in higher education, that is also of special importance in the performance of tasks.
In his speech, Daniel Rosenbloom US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan, acknowledged that scientific cooperation in addressing important issues and the opportunities that are being developed will play a major role in the development of the region's potential. Then the event was attended by Deputy Minister of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vohidjon Ahmadjanov, Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education Uzokboy Begimkulov, Executive Director of the Central Asian Regional Environmental Center Zafar Mahmudov, Marhabo Yodalieva, Program Coordinator of the Natural Water Resources Program of the Kazakh-German University, Vice-Rector of the Institute, Professor Abduhakim Salohiddinov, commented on the essence of the topic. The guests of the event wished good luck and success to the further work of the international summer school and the newly created laboratory. The International Summer School will run for two weeks (August 17-28).
