Profession - “to bring light to people”.
The librarian is an ancient profession that has existed for over four thousand years. The modern library is a large planet of books, magazines and newspapers, where the main guide of this planet is the librarian. May 21 is declared as Librarian Day in Uzbekistan. This day was adopted by the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On further improvement of information and library services for the population of the Republic of Uzbekistan" dated June 7, 2019.
As President Sh. Mirziyoyev noted, "Every state and every nation in the world is strong, first of all, by its intellectual potential, high spirituality. And the source of this invincible force is books and libraries - the great discovery of mankind." Great tasks lie ahead for the librarians of TIIAME, which they fulfill with honor. IRC secure the fund in accordance with educational programs, curriculum of the institute and topics of scientific research. Organizes the acquisition of documents of various types (including in electronic form): educational, scientific, reference publications, periodicals and fiction. Organizes service for users in reading rooms, educational and scientific subscriptions by category, on the basis of a single library card at the places of issuing literature.
Provides the users witha freedom to acces to the library fund in the prescribed manner. Organizes thematic book exhibitions, bibliographic reviews, compiles bibliographic references, lists of literature to help the scientific and educational activities of the institute; Engaged in the automation of library processes, promotes advanced library technologies. Conducts various studies in order to study the interests of users. On Librarian Day, we congratulate all representatives of this important profession on their professional holiday.
