Course "Fundamentals of Information and Library and Bibliographic Knowledge" at the IRC
Higher education is one of the most informational areas of society, which makes it necessary to determine the role of the institute of higher education in information support in the training of personnel. In the education system, it is the library that plays the role of a center in which all information flows are connected. In this regard, the staff of the IRC TIIAME resumed classes with first-year students on "Fundamentals of Information and Library and Bibliographic Knowledge." Current students - future specialists in water and agriculture will constantly encounter a huge flow of information in the process of study and social activities. The goal of this course is to teach them to competently and independently choose from a huge amount of literature the most necessary and important for them, skillfully apply computer technologies and electronic programs (IRBIS-ARM - Reader), use traditional catalogs - Alphabetical and Systematic. Employees of the IRC - F.T.Tukhtaeva and N.Yu.Milichenkova conduct lectures with presentations, introduce students to the history, main departments, rules of use of the IRC of TIIAME, and record students according to their faculties. In practical classes, students independently perform assignments to find the necessary literature in electronic and traditional catalogs, receive answers to questions.
