An article on gratitude to Uzbekistan was published by Hungarian partners
According to the article, these words were uttered when the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Hungary Péter Szijjártó announced on April 14, 2020 that Uzbekistan had sent a second social assistance to Hungary. For the first time, 150,000 face masks were shipped on March 28 this year, and the second time, 500,000 face masks were delivered.
Minister Péter Szijjártó held a video conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Uzbekistan, Deputy Prime Minister Sardor Uktamovich Umurzakov, noting that in this difficult situation, the problems are the same everywhere. The Uzbek government is reportedly working to strike a balance between health measures and economic sustainability. They affirmed that both health and the economy are the responsibility of the state. The video conference highlighted the need to protect the lives and health of citizens while ensuring that the economy works, restarts and grows again. The ministers also agreed that the pandemic would have long-term consequences and that any strategy should also focus on long-term effects. The approach of the two countries in the fight against COVID-19 is similar; it involves the use of traditional and completely new forms of economic policy.
In addition to economic issues, the Hungarian Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister noted that the number of Uzbek students studying in Hungary on a grant basis has been increased from 30 to 100 in order to ensure the best possible long-term cooperation.
"Thank you, Uzbekistan!" was concluded the article.
