Cooperation with a leading US University in the field of agricultural engineering with the Iowa State University has been launched
The UniCEN program creates opportunities for establishing and developing international relations between higher education institutions in the United States and Central Asia. The program supports selected universities in Central Asia, and creates conditions for successful cooperation, with the aim of practical understanding of the US higher education system. TIIAME is currently collaborating with the Mississippi and Oklahoma State Universities as part of the UniCEN program. In the new 2020-21 academic year, the Iowa State University (ISU), one of the leading universities in agricultural engineering field, has joined the list of partner universities in the program (see: https://unicen.americancouncils.org/central-asia-university-partnerships-program-unicen-awards- announcement/).
In the first years of independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a scientific and practical exchange project was implemented between the ISU and TIIAME. In the current project given the current situation with the pandemic corona virus, professors of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering department of ISU during the school year once a month will be holding webinars on advance topics of agricultural engineering, also will work on new projects following the discussion and exchange of ideas.
Iowa State University is ranked 511st in the overall QS ranking for 2020, 16th in the agriculture subject ranking, and bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering have regularly ranked 1-2 in the US rankings for a number of years. About 100 graduate and doctoral students studying and doing research at Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering department of ISU where work more than 50 professors, and department has about 1000 bachelor students.
The first introductory webinar planned for the project will be held on September 15, 2020 at 17.00-18.00 of Tashkent time on the WebEx platform.
