The subsequent meeting of "BioEcUz" project
A meeting with professors and teachers of the Latvian University of Life Sciences and Technology was organized. There was given a brief overview of the role of bioeconomics in the economic sectors of European countries. Bioeconomics is a new economic model, that covers natural resources (animals, plants, microorganisms and biomass derived from them, including organic waste), networks and systems, their functions and principles. It uses renewable natural resources and utilizes the unused potential of biological waste, as well. Bioeconomics include: land and sea ecosystems and the services, all major industries that use and produce biological resources, food, organic products and all industries that use biological resources and processes to produce energy and services. Taking into account the above, in order to introduce a master's degree in bioeconomics in Uzbekistan, there were identified tasks for a comprehensive analysis and agreed to be implemented by HEI in Uzbekistan.
