Harmony of music and poetry

On February 3, 2021, on the occasion of the 580th anniversary of the great notionalist Mir Alisher Navoi, the Institute in cooperation with the Uzbek National maqom Center organized an event "Nazm va navo". The event had a special significance as an expression of the harmony of music and poetry. Because every year on February 9, the birthday of the great thinker Alisher Navoi is widely celebrated. This year we are on the eve of celebrating its 580th anniversary. At the same time, the attention given by our government to our classical music culture today, especially the revival of the art of maqom, has made significant changes in the spiritual life of our people.

In this regard, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said, “If we want to know and study the original art, we must first know and study the classical art of maqom. We honor the memory of the great poets and thinkers, composers and musicians, great poets, who have made an invaluable contribution to the formation and development of such a great spiritual wealth." 

We are proud that our great thinker Alisher Navoi made a significant contribution with his rubai and gazals to the development of such a great cultural heritage in the classical literature of the East, fine arts, science and enlightenment, the art of maqom, nourished by Islamic values. Our ancestors made a great contribution not only to the literature of our nation, but also to world civilization with their wise life and rich scientific and educational work. 

People's Artists of Uzbekistan Matluba Dadaboeva, Soyibjon Niyazov, Honored Artists of Uzbekistan Gulbahor Erkulova, Elmurad Akhmedov, Furkat, a group of famous artists of the Uzbek National Center for Maqom Art took part in the evening "Nazm va navo" Ashuraliev, Ahmadjon Dadaev, Kamoliddin Alimakhsumov, the owner of the Medal of Fame, gave a good mood to the audience with their performances.
