A group of TIIAME activists visited Muynak
It is known that the drying up of the Aral Sea has become one of the global environmental issues that threaten not only the Central Asian region, but the entire planet. Due to this reason, the head of our state puts forward concrete proposals to reduce the negative consequences of this threat in order to draw the attention of the world community to this problem. In addition, practical work is underway to plant shrubs and trees in the arid marine zone. Particularly, in recent years, projects have been implemented in the Aral Sea region, on the drained seabed, on planting saxaul bushes and other salt-tolerant plants, to improve the living conditions of the population, living in the region.
The essential goal of the ecological charity was cycling marathon, initiated by regional administrations, the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan and a number of other organizations, popularizing cycling in the country, improving the living conditions of the population of the Aral Sea region and solving urgent ecological problems.
It is planned that this cycling marathon will last from May 21 to June 5 this year, and the participants of the marathon have to pass through all regions of the country and go to Muynak. A group of activists of Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers took an active part in such a noble and practical event.
The participants, that arrived in Nukus from Tashkent on June 3, 2021 were warmly greeted by hosts. Firstly, the participants went to the Lower Amudarya State Biosphere Reserve, located in Beruniy and Amudarya regions of the Republic of Karakalpakstan in order to meet the participants of the ecological charity cycling marathon "Support to Moynak" and take part in the upcoming events. During the event, the participants of the ecological charity cycling marathon "Support to Muynak" were greeted with the sounds of trumpets. After the meeting ceremony, the participants organized a trip to the Lower Amudarya State Biosphere Reserve.
For reference: As part of the participation of the Muynak region, the Ship Cemetery will also take part in the international conference "The developing region of the Aral Sea through the eyes of the world community", dedicated to the World Environment Day on June 5.
