Today's reforms - a report for the future

The quality of education depends on the professional level of teachers. The mainstay of education is directly related to the responsibility and obligations of the research and teaching staff. The President has repeatedly said that in any case, under any circumstances, attention to education will never diminish.

What is the approach to education reforms at the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers? These issues were discussed at an online meeting on July 7, 2020, at 11:00 on the topic "Vigilance today is a requirement of the time." The event was attended by 400 people, almost the entire staff of the Institute, including vice-rectors, members of the Academic Council, deans of faculties, heads of departments, faculty, doctoral students, employees of all departments. Acting as the moderator of the online meeting, the vice-rector of the institute for work with youth Ruzimurod Choriev spoke about the goals and essence of this dialogue and gave the floor to the rector of the institute, Professor Uktam Pardaevich Umurzakov. The rector of the institute shared his opinion on the negative phenomenon such as corruption encountered in society, in particular in the higher education system, and on its prevention.

He spoke about the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No.UP-5729 dated May 27, 2019 "On measures to further improve the anti-corruption system in the Republic of Uzbekistan" and about efforts to implement the "Sector without corruption" project. First of all, it is necessary to improve the quality and content of the education provided for in the Concept for the Development of the Higher Education System and put an end to corruption. Unfortunately, the education system of the CIS countries has not yet been able to get rid of this scourge. The Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers was one of the first among the universities of the republic, together with the Uzreport TV channel and the HUAWEI company, began to provide students with reports of professors and teachers of the institute through the media and social networks.

Yesterday, July 4, an online video conference was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education Inomzhon Mazhidov on admission to higher educational institutions. It critically discussed recent cases of corruption committed by employees of higher educational institutions (Namangan State University, Samarkand State Institute of Architecture and Construction, Bukhara Engineering and Technological Institute, Nukus State Pedagogical Institute, Samarkand State University, Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature named after Alisher Navoi, Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports), which were brought to the attention of the public through the media and social networks. In this regard, the rectors, vice-rectors responsible for the spiritual and moral environment of the educational institution received a negative assessment.
