Summer School Impressions
The youth of the country plays a large role in the presentation of Uzbekistan, its education and scientific traditions abroad. Students of our institute make a great contribution to the acquisition of modern knowledge in the specialties, the development of their abilities not only in our country, but also abroad.
One of them is a student of group 416 of the Faculty Hydromelioration Otakhanova Olimakhon Adham Kizi. In order to establish strong friendships between South Korea and the countries of Central Asia, exchange knowledge and skills, she took part in the academic summer school “GKS-2019 for Central Asian Undergraduate students”.
This summer school was held from July 11 to August 14 and encompassed more than 80 students from Central Asia (11 of whom are from Uzbekistan). During the project, students studied Korean specialties, learned the Korean language, studied ancient Korean history, traditions and places of worship, including Gyeongju, Kumi, Daegu, Bueyo, Iksan, Busan. During the project, participants were presented with global problems in Central Asia and various key elements were presented to solve them. The Aral Sea Monitoring team from Uzbekistan in a short time expressed their views on the problem using the Drone element. At the end of the summer school at Konkuk University Otakhanova Olimakhon presented her project.
At the closing ceremony of GKS-2019, our student team took 1st place and was awarded certificates and valuable gifts. Korean professors and judges showed great interest in the project and approach to the Aral Sea problem presented by our students, and established strong ties for working together in the future.
