Against the plague of the century
Nowadays drug addiction is one of the most serious diseases that pose a serious threat to human life. For that reason, it is described as the "plague of the century." Drugs have seriously undermined the development of society and nation, and are now a source of concern to many countries around the world.
The event, which was held on February 19 at the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers, focused on these issues.
The event was led by the dean of the faculty "Organization and management of water resources" R. Khakimov. There was attended by Major O.Elchiboev, Senior Rapid Response Officer of the Tashkent City Criminal Investigation Department, Lieutenant-Colonel Sh.Khikmatullaev, Inspector on preventing juvenile delinquency, The Deputy Dean for Youth Affairs of the Faculty of “Organization and Management of Water Resources” J.Turdiev, as well as deputy deans for youth work of all faculties, 11 professors and 158 students.
First, Major O.Elchiboev, Senior Rapid Response Officer of the Tashkent City Criminal Investigation Department provided participants with evidence-based examples of the drug addiction and its adverse effects.
A number of laws and regulations, such as the Law on Drugs and Psychotropic Substances and the ratification of the UN conventions were adopted to strengthen the legal basis of such actions. In addition, a State Commission on Drug Control was established.
In addition, there was explained on the basis of statistical data about the psychological and medical conditions and changes in the body of people who used drugs, the harmful effects of drug, tobacco and alcohol.
Then a report delivered by Lieutenant-Colonel Sh.Hikmatullaev, the Inspector on Prevention of Juveniles and Youth Offenses in the Mirzo-Ulugbek District Department of Internal Affairs.
It is important to note that the sooner we can solve the problems in the field of upbringing, the more effective we will be able to combat this problem. For this purpose it is necessary to instill in everyone a sense of social responsibility.
During the event was shown a documentary film "Death Path". At the end of the event, the experts answered the questions asked by the students.
After a lively conversation Dean of the Faculty of "Organization and Management of Water Resources" of the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers R.Khakimov thanked the participants of the event and noted that frequent roundtable discussions would be useful.
