On May 21, the UN Conference on Water Supply in 2019 has a world-wide theme presentation entitled "No one is to be left alone".
The organizers of the event are the UNESCO office in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Water Policy, Water Resources Management and Environmental Protection under the UNESCO TIAME.
The opening ceremony was opened by the rector of the institute, professor O'.Umurzakov. UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan Helen Fraser, Head of UNESCO Representative Office in Uzbekistan Fuad Pashayev, Deputy Minister of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ravshan Mamutov addressed the event. Representatives of representative offices of foreign countries and leading experts of the authoritative organizations also participated in the event.
Speaking at the opening speech, the rector said: "Today, water is a major determinant of socio-economic, social and cultural development of the community and, in particular, that it is directly related to Central Asia, the world's water-related processes deteriorate every day regretfully recording it. It is well known that the increasingly moderate use of water is closely linked with the global climate change, which in turn creates a problem of water scarcity and scarcity.
According to official data, around 2.4 billion people in the world do not have a sanitary condition in demand for water use. More than 1 billion people are deprived of safe drinking water. This, in turn, contributes to 250 million people, of which 5 million are in danger of death. It is sad to say that 20% of the irrigated land is salty.
This global event is aimed at reaching the main conclusions drawn from the World Water Report on March 19, 2019, officially ratified by the Human Rights Advisory Council at the Nations' Palace in Geneva.
