From June 21- 23, 2021 there was held Hungary-Uzbekistan Rectors’ Forum at Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers in the partnership with the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Hungarian’s Rectors’ Conference and the Embassy of Hungary in Uzbekistan.
Among the participants from the Hungarian side there was the State Secretary, the Head of Rectors’ Conference, heads of 21 Higher Education Institutions and from the Uzbek side there was the Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Chairman of the Council of Higher Education, about 50 professor-teachers of higher educational institutions throughout the Republic continued their work at the general meeting and sections of the forum.
It is important to suggest that the main purpose of the forum is to strengthen the multilateral cooperation between the higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan and Hungary. During the forum there were achieved such activities as signing Memorandums of Understanding between the Higher Education Institutions of Uzbekistan and Hungary, developing mutual partnership in the areas of education, research and innovation, sharing experience in the mentioned areas and signing several agreements.
As Hungary-Uzbekistan Higher education Rectors’ Forum was organized for the first time, at the forum there was also discussed the establishment of mutual cooperation along with the actual tasks and issues directly and open discussion together.
Besides that, the parties achieved the following:
- exchanging experience on effective ways in implementing the credit system in higher education;
- implementing the effective system of professional development and retraining of teachers;
-exchanging the views on further improving the integration of education, science and industry, academic exchange of students, organizing internships, grants and other opportunities for the international cooperation between the two countries, and there were signed agreements on practical work as well.
