The first meeting of CIS ministers and rectors with the founder and President of the QS rating company

It is clear that the development of science and education is an important factor in the development of the country. In accordance with the Decree "On approval of the Concept of development of the higher education system of the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030", work is underway to include at least 10 higher education institutions in the ranking of internationally recognized organizations intended to increase. In order to ensure the implementation of the tasks set out in the document, a meeting was held in Tashkent with the founder and president of the global ranking of QS world universities Nuncio Quakvarelli. Aliya Ospanova, the founder of the Center for Scientific Services, gave the floor to Uzakboy Begimkulov, Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education, and Uktam Umurzakov, Rector of TIIAME.

In a video conference attended by the Ministers of Education of the Commonwealth of Independent States and more than 200 university rectors, the authoritative QS rating system of the world's higher education institutions first spoke about the requirements for inclusion in this list. It was noted that the agency was established in 1990, and the first ranking of higher education institutions was created in 2004. Since then, QS has been a leader among rating agencies in the world, and currently holds a leading role in the education services market. It should be noted that this ranking includes the world's leading universities, and TIIAME is the only university in the country included in this ranking, and the prospects for the development of universities in the region. In order to enter this ranking, information was provided about the work being done in higher education institutions in the country.

In the event was also discussed important aspects of the strategy of entering the international ranking of higher education institutions in our country, the experience of international rating agencies in this area. In particular, it was noted that attention should be paid to increasing the participation of local scientists in international scientific journals and increasing their citations in international databases, as these are the main scientific data that form the ranking.
