Corruption is the corrosion and erosion of society

"The Main Directions of the State Policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Fighting against Corruption" is an actual topic today. Two days’ event with all professors and teachers of our institute was dedicated to this problem. The president reminds us that "corruption is a disorder that fails the development of society" and he gives us instructions and suggestions on how to eradicate this horrible disease.

Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs Ruzimurod Choriev organized the event with the teachers of the faculty "Organization and management of water resources", " Land Management", "Hydrotechnical construction" in the morning. Then in the afternoon "Hydromelioration"," Mechanization of Hydromeliorative works". First, Gulnora Khudoyberdieva, PhD, associate professor of law, made a presentation based on the requirements of the Corruption Law and Program. She gave a detailed information on the meaning of the word corruption, its origin and methods of punishment. Then video reel by Oybek Orifjonov attracted the attention of spectators.

As it is known, on January 18th, at the General Prosecutors took place the enlarged meeting of the Republican Commission for Combating Corruption chaired by the Nigmatilla Yuldashev. At the meeting, which was held in the form of a video-conference, were discussed the issues of fighting corruption and ensuring legality in higher education.

At the meeting, it was criticized that 326 employees of the system have been prosecuted for crimes related to the education process over the last two years, of which 220 were by colleges and lyceums and 106 by higher education. At Higher Educational nInstitutes there are 3 rectors, 5 vice-rectors, 15 deans and vice-deans, 62 teachers. In colleges and lyceums, 34 directors, 31 deputy directors, 94 teachers committed crimes. In this regard, Professor Q. Nazarov, Academician Sh. Yuldashev, Professor S.Vafoev  made their remarks. In the end, the event reminded us of the need for eradicating this kind of issue that is going to erode society.
