Visit to the Alley of Writers on the occasion of the 106th anniversary of the birth of the great Uzbek poetess Zulfia

March marks the 106th anniversary of the birth of the great Uzbek poetess, People's Poet of Uzbekistan Zulfiya. In this connection, the 2nd year students of the 5th group of the Faculty of Hydraulic Engineering under the guidance of the group supervisor, senior lecturer of the Department of Theoretical and Structural Mechanics E. Toshmatov, visited the Alley of Writers. During the visit, students learned about the life and work of Zulfiya. Zulfiya Israilova, the beloved poetess of Uzbek people and a well-known public figure, was born on March 1, 1915, in Tashkent in the family of craftsmen. After finishing secondary school and women's pedagogical school she worked in the editorial offices of republican newspapers and magazines; she took a great interest in poetry and began to write poems. At the age of 17 (in 1932) her first poetry collection "Pages of Life" was published, with poems about youth, friendship and the beauty of the human soul. Since 1938, she has worked in various publishing houses and has been a member of republican and inter-republican organizations. Zulfiya has written about her people and their centuries-long traditions. Her work glorifies her mother, the custodian of the family home.

Zulfia's poetry is imbued with an awe-inspiring sense of love for nature and man as an integral, supreme part of nature itself. In her poems, nature appears in bright colours and images. Zulfiya's lyrics, full of nobility, courageous, truly national pathos, a sincere love and respect for nature and man, a wealth of colours and unexpectedly fresh images, excites the reader and strengthens his faith in the future of humanity.
