International cooperation in the field of water resources management

The establishment of cooperation with foreign countries is of great importance in the education system. In this regard, the online webinar on the topic "Projects of cooperation in the field of water resources management between Uzbekistan and Germany", organized by the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Federal Republic of Germany, the World Youth Association of Uzbekistan, University Humboldt in Berlin.

On June 26, 2020, the rector of TIIAME, professor Uktam Pardaevich Umurzakov opened an online webinar between Tashkent, Uzbekistan and Berlin, Germany, expressed his sincere wishes and noted that the results of cooperation will be important for both countries. In his opening speech, he warmly welcomed Ambassador Kosimov Nabijon Sodikjonovich and his compatriots working in Germany.

The purpose of the webinar is to provide information on scientific and educational cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany in the field of water resources management and existing grants, as well as detailed information about the Humboldt University in Berlin, which is among the top 100 universities in the world. Learn about the requirements for admission to the PhD program in Germany and successful defense. Get information about one of the most influential journals included in the Scopus and Web of Science databases, as well as how to publish articles.

The main speaker of the webinar was Khamidov Ahmadjon Muhammadkhanovich, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin. He is not only a compatriot, but also a graduate of the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers.

Khamidov Ahmadjon Mukhammadkhanovich graduated from the institute and received a bachelor's degree in 2002, in 2004 he received a master's degree. In 2005-2007 studied for a master's degree at the University of Cadiz in Spain. During his career he worked as a researcher at the World Bank of the USA (2007-2009), a researcher at the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Melioration (2009-2010), since 2010 - a doctoral student, associate professor, professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany. He is also a Senior Research Fellow at the Leibniz Center for Agricultural Landscapes (ZALF). He is currently the coordinator of a joint research project ZALF Center and TIIAME on the topic "WEFUz - Assessment of the sustainability of Water, Energy and Food security in irrigated agriculture: the case of rivers in Uzbekistan".

“The development of a country is a process that is inextricably linked with the development of science. These two concepts are inseparable. This harmony is more vividly demonstrated by the increase in the intellectual potential of young people, the support of talented people and certainly, gives the expected results ”- said Sultanov Tokhir Zokirovich, Deputy rector for Research and Innovation.

Over the past year, students of the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers in the Olympiads held in the Republic won 10 honorary places, 1 doctoral student and 1 master's degree, 1 bachelor student is the owner of the state scholarship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of agriculture, 1 - the state scholarship named after Navoi, 2 - State scholarship named after Beruni.

Over the past year, 10 doctoral students, 14 masters and 9 bachelors have been trained abroad. In addition, in 2019, the institute organized "Summer Schools" with the participation of undergraduates and young researchers from Central Asia and the Republic of Afghanistan, European universities on topics related to water resources, food, energy security. Such efforts will allow our future professionals to share their knowledge with their colleagues at the international level and jointly solve current issues in this area.

Our Republic, embassies in abroad and the Youth Union are always ready to support active youth in the field of education, science and entrepreneurship. At the end of the event, the rector of the institute Umurzakov U. P. on behalf of the organizing committee thanked the participants of the online webinar.
